Inishbofin Walking Festival Sponsored by Citylink

We are delighted to announce that this year Citylink have come on-board as the principle sponsor of our annual Inishbofin Walking Festival!

There has been a strong connection between Inishbofin and Citylink for many years, as they offer the only dedicated bus service from Galway City to the Inishbofin ferry at Cleggan. During the height of the busy summer season, Citylink connect with each ferry that arrives and departs from Cleggan, providing an invaluable service for both islanders and visitors alike. Indeed, all year round they provide a vital transport link between the island and the towns of Connemara, as well as with the city of Galway. This new partnership for our 5th annual Walking Festival will serve to further strengthen the ties between Inishbofin and Citylink.

Currently, we are undertaking a drive towards more sustainable and environmentally-aware tourism on Inishbofin. As part of this initiative, we are reassessing how our visitors arrive here from across the country, and even from abroad, and the impact this travel has on our environment. This year, we are encouraging all those who can leave their cars at home to do so, and to travel to the ferry in the comfort and ease of a Citylink bus.  Citylink can get you to Cleggan from Galway, Cork, Limerick, Athlone and everywhere in between….and even from Dublin Airport! It has never been easier to forget the stress of driving, leave the car at home, and relax while Citylink deliver you to Cleggan pier.
