back to the top  THE LOBSTER POT COTTAGE

is at the East End of the island in a picturesque bay, with wonderful views and only yards from the seashore and beach. It has recently been renovated and equipped to a high standard – with wooden floors throughout and centrally heated.

There is an open-plan kitchen and living room downstairs. Spiral stairs lead up to two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) and bathroom with shower. The small South facing patio off the kitchen has furniture and a barbecue.

Electric cooker, washing machine,tumble drier, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV.stereo/C.D. player, toaster, kettle, iron, hairdryer and bedside radios. Drinking water is filtered. Hot water is provided by immersion. Bed linen is supplied. Please bring towels and tea towels.

Accommodation is for 4 people. Electricity and oil are metered and charged at cost. Solid fuel stove - briquettes charged as used. Sorry - no pets.

Two ferries operate between the island and Cleggan

'Galway Bay'
leaves Cleggan at 11:30am, 2:00pm and 6:45pm
leaves Inishbofin at 9:15am, 12:30pm, and 5:00pm.

'Island Discovery'
leaves Cleggan at 11:30am, 2:00pm and 6:45pm.
leaves Inishbofin at 9:00am, 1:00pm, and 5:00pm.

Senior citizen travel passes are accepted on both ferries.

There is a resident Public Health Nurse on the Island. Details of clinics are available at the Medical Centre. A Doctor visits once weekly, on Wednesday.

By train, bus or air to Galway, then by Michael Nee Coaches ring for details 095 41082. Buses leave Forster St. car park to Cleggan.

From 4.00 p.m. on Saturday until 12.00 noon on following Saturday.
A 25% deposit secures the cottage for the dates you require. The balance is due on arrival.

We trust that you will leave the cottage as you would like to find it. Please notify us of breakages or damage.
