Billy Mundow had been visiting Inishbofin for many years and moved here permanently 20 years ago. He enrolled as a mature student in Trinity College Dublin and graduated in 2011 with a BA in English (Single Honours). He was then conferred with an MPhil in Irish Writing.
He has a wide knowledge of Irish literature and he has lectured on the works of James Joyce.
He started The Inishbofin Trip tours 5 years ago and it has received many good reviews on the internet. He has a good knowledge of local history, particularly the Cromwellian presence in the seventeenth century and its effects on the later generations and island life in general.
A typical tour is of two to three hours duration and involves some walking in the more remote locations where the abundant bird life thrives.
