Out of respect to the environment, to other visitors and to the local community wild camping on Inishbofin is not supported and camper vans should have a permission from the land owner.

Inishbofin is a designated Special Area of Conservation under the EU Habitats Directive, proposed as a Natural Heritage Area for biodiversity reasons and some parts of the island are designated as Special Protection Areas under the EU Birds Directive.
