Safety
- Wetsuits recommended for safety reasons
- Support will be provided by RIBS and kayaks
- Please wear the swim cap provided so we can identify you.
- East End Bay is a very sheltered bay but may be choppy in certain weather conditions.
- Sea swimming is different to pool swimming. The shock of entering cold water can affect your breathing and make you tighten up. Also the water may be choppier than you are used to. We recommend you spend some time training in open water for this event. If you start to panic, turn onto your back and regain your breath, then start swimming when you are comfortable.
This event is only for people who are used to sea swimming
